The Living Room Letters are where we pause to reflect—through editorials, essays, and observations that invite us to look a little closer at the world around us.
The Record Player preserves the songs that become part of our stories.
The Archive safeguards the moments and objects that deserve to be remembered.
The Bookshelf honors the writers and thinkers whose words continue to shape us.
The Studio is where stories continue beyond the page through creative partnerships, collaborations, and original projects.
Together, these rooms form more than a publication. They create a place to return to—a place where stories are treated with care, curiosity is welcomed, and memory has a home.

The Living Room
Welcome to The Living Room.
Every publication begins with a first issue. We begin with an open door.
This inaugural collection is an invitation to slow down and spend time with stories that deserve more than a passing glance. Here, you'll find conversations, music, memories, artifacts, and reflections that reveal not only who we are, but how we remember.
This month, our first Spotlight Feature introduces Dino Daniels, whose story explores the lasting relationship between music, identity, and memory. His feature is accompanied by a curated playlist in the Record Player, an artifact preserved in the Archive, and a growing collection of voices that together reflect the richness of Black life and culture.

Looking Ahead to August
Every month, we'll leave a light on for what's coming next.
If July was about opening the door, August invites us to step inside.
Our next conversation centers on Home, Transition & Becoming—the places that shape us, the people who anchor us, and the quiet moments that reveal who we're becoming.
We'll begin the month with an Editor's Note, followed by Living Room Letters No. 001: Dear 37, a personal letter reflecting on what it means to enter a new season of life. From there, we'll continue building the rooms of the publication through stories, music, books, and conversations that remind us that home is often something we carry with us.
On The Bookshelf, we'll spend the month with bell hooks, returning to her work on love, belonging, and community. The Record Player continues to grow with our first Needle Drop, a new Monthly Rotation, and the debut of One Song • One Story, featuring Sam, whose chosen song becomes a window into memory, grief, and the stories music carries for us.
You'll also find new exhibitions, fresh reflections from the margins, and another note from the living room as our conversation continues to unfold.
